Hace unos dias que regresamos de pasar nuestras vacaciones en Asturias, y decidme si las casas que os muestro a continuacion no podrian pasar por ser casas de muñecas...
We use to spend our summer holidays in Asturias (a region situated at the north of Spain), and we returned some days ago.
Tell me if the houses that I show you next weren't able to get past by dollhouses...

Las hemos visto en poblaciones como Colombres, Llanes, Colunga..., y las denominan "casas de indianos".
Son edificios elegantes, que suelen tener palmeras para dejar claro el origen de las riquezas de quienes los construyeron, y llevan nombres de mujeres o de paises lejanos. Sus dueños triunfaron a finales del siglo XIX y principios del XX al otro lado del charco: Mexico, Cuba, Chile... Tras lo que ellos llamaron "hacer las Americas", volvieron ricos a sus lugares natales y levantaron colegios, hospitales y palacetes .
We found them in villages like Colombres, Llanes, Colunga...They are "indianos' houses".
They are smart buildings which usually have big palms in their gardens, and they were named whit women or far away countries names.
They were built by spaniard who returned to Spain having made his fortune in Latin America: Mexico, Cuba, Chile... at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. They called it "do the Americas". The indianos built schools, hospitals and small palaces in their natal countries.

Me he quedado fascinada por su arquitectura, y sobre todo por su buena conservacion y sus brillantes colores.
Lo dicho: como casas de muñecas pero a escala 1:1
I loved discover them and to be able to admire their bright colours and over all their good preservation.
As I said: like dollhouses but in 1:1 scale.
