Primeras fotos.../First pictures...

...de nuestro nuevo proyecto.

A partir de papel impreso con impresora hemos hecho algunos azulejos para una de las paredes,  siguiendo un tutorial de Josje (http://josje-bouwt.blogspot.com). Despues de envejecidos el resultado ha quedado bastante aparente.

  Creo que en las siguientes fotos quedan claros los pasos seguidos.

We have done some tiles from a great Josje's tutorial.    

Los muebles estan hechos a la medida que necesitabamos, y luego teñidos y barnizados.
The furniture is custom-made , and then we stained it.

Las paredes estan preparadas con Aguaplast, pintado una vez seco.

We prepared the walls with a paste called Aguaplast. 

En esta escena no podia faltar un trapo bien arrugadito. La tecnica aprendida de la encantadora Mercedes ( http://libertybiberty.blogspot.com). Sencilla y muy efectiva. Si no conoceis su blog, os recomiendo que lo visiteis, es de lo mas interesante.  

In this roombox we couldn't missed a properly wrinkled dishtowel. Mercedes (http://libertybiberty.blogspot.com) is the author of this thecnique. Simply and very effective. If you don't know her blog,  I recommend you visit it. It is lovely.        

Y por ultimo algunos cachivaches hechos por mi para decorar las estanterias...

Mas torneados/More turnings

Continuamos avanzando poco a poco con el torno...
We continue making progress with our mini lathe...

...y probando nuevos materiales
...and trying out new materials.

Recientemente hemos comenzado un nuevo proyecto, y claro habia que "dejar constancia" del uso que  estamos dando a la nueva herramienta.

Recently we have begun a new project, and we wanted to make some items with the lathe to put in it... 

 

Esta damajuana esta realizada en resina a partir de un molde que hicimos en madera. Luego le añadimos un poco de cuerda y un trocito de corcho.

This demijohn is made of resin from a mold which we turned of wood. After, we added a bit of rope and a little cork.

Estoy contenta con el resultado, me parece que adorna muy bien el lugar donde ira colocada.

I am pleased with the results, I think it will decorate very well the place where I shall put it.

Nuestro nuevo juguete/Our new toy

Este es el nuevo "juguete" que Papa Noel dejo en casa estas Navidades: un mini torno que habiamos deseado tener desde hace algun tiempo...

This is the new 'toy' that Santa Claus brought us last Christmas: a micro turning lathe that we wanted a some time ago...

Me parece maravilloso ver como la madera va tomando forma a medida que el torno gira, y los diferentes resultados dependiendo del tipo de madera empleado (creo que puede llegar a convertirse en un vicio, jaja). Todos los objetos estan sin barnizar ni teñir, y como acabado solo les hemos aplicado una pequeña cantidad de aceite mineral. Ojala los pudierais tocar..., ¡su suavidad es increible!!

Os ire mostrando nuestros logros con esta pequeña-gran herramienta...

I like seeing how the wood takes shape when the lathe turns, and discovering the different results depending on the type of wood used (I think it  might become a vice for us, lol). The pieces are neither varnised nor stained. We have just applied them a mineral oil layer. I wish you could touch them ..., their smoothness are amazing!!

Next days I shall show you our achievements with this little-big tool...

Antes de Navidad/Before Christmas time

En estos ultimos dias he estado preparando algunos dulces para los previos de Navidad.  Ahora ya toca pensar en algo mas navideño para la epoca que se acerca...

In these last days I did some little cakes for the previous of Christmas. Now I have to think about something more appropriate to Christmas time...

Una buena feria/A good fair

Sin duda esta ha sido una buena feria para nosotros. Aunque el domingo el tiempo en Madrid fue horrible (estuvo lloviendo todo el dia), y quizas debido a esto hubo menos afluencia de publico, durante todo el sabado la feria estuvo muy animada. Nos encanto volver a ver a expositores de ediciones anteriores, y a tantos amigos que pasaron a saludarnos.

No doubt we had a good time this weekend. Even though the weather on Sunday was horrible in Madrid (it rained all the day), and perhaps because of it the fair this day was a bit quiet, however during all Saturday the show was very lively. We were delighted seeing and  speaking to the exhibitors of previous editions, and as well greeting to many friends who went up to say hello.
